July 12, 2010 Meeting Minutes

8^th Meeting of the 2010 OPLL Board

OPLL Board Meeting, 7/12/2010, called to order at 8:10PM.    

Attendees:   Eric Dietz, Shawn Gavigan, Paul Collins, Jim Ryan, Scott Addeo, Tom Prince, Jim Biddle, Tom Kozoduj, Greg Zablonski, Joe Pici

President:

The gas line at Duerr has started a  little to late, but started
Baseball is complete all leagues are done
Softball has 2 weeks remaining
We are in full fledge Tournament mode for all age groups
Thanks to all coaches, etc for the year so far.
No new news on the Holmes and Murphy project
The Recreation Dept fieldhouse project is gathering steam
BIG ISSUE-next years Board members, existing members need to think about coming back and what position they want
Start signaling new members, and what positions
Start putting together an actual chart with duties of each position, etc.
Anyone who is positive that they are not coming back start looking for your replacement.
We need to know everyones intention by the next meeting so we can fill spots for the September vote.

Director of Baseball:  Baseball season is complete.  Super Sunday Championship day was a huge success.  A lot of positive feedback on the event.

Director of Softball:  Softball season will complete in 2 weeks.   10U Williamsport team won the district tournament and will advance to the next round.   12U team is in the finals.

Treasurer:   Money raised from the fundraiser is in the treasury.   Some sponsors still have not paid.   Overall finances are in good shape.

Safety:   The number of injuries were higher than in years past.  No known reason for this increase.

Baseball Travel/Tournament Director:   11U Williamsport tournament going along well.  The 12U team is in the district finals.

Open Discussion:   Point was raised that we should look at making improvements to several of the Duerr Rd. fields as well as the facility in general before the end of the summer.
