Orchard Park Starz is a well-established, premier Western New York softball organization. Our organization is dedicated to teaching the game of softball through patience, guidance, and mentorship. We have a strong developmental program that introduces our athletes to travel softball at ages as young as eight years old. 

We strive to develop these young athletes into confident, strong, and independent young women. Solid fundamentals, a positive attitude, hard work, teamwork, and respect are the cornerstones of Orchard Park Starz Travel Softball.

Tryouts:
The 8u-20u tryouts occur annually at Orchard Park Little League Fields in early- to mid-August. Players will be evaluated on timed base running, throwing accuracy, fielding fundamentals, and hitting. Pitching and catching will be evaluated for older teams. Each team will normally take 10-13 girls on a roster. 

What to Expect:
Each coach sets their own practice schedule, games, and tournaments. We highly recommend you reach out to the prospective coach on his/her plans for the season. Every coach is different in their season plans. They should be able to share the projected cost for the season, as well.

What to Do if Your Child Doesn't Make the Team:
If your child does not make the team, do not give up! Ask for feedback on what skills need to be improved upon. There are other travel organizations, so we can also help you find a team if OP does not work out. We recommend joining the Niagara Frontier Girls Softball page and the Metro Girls Softball page on Facebook. They will advertise other organizations' tryouts and will normally post a day-by-day list of organizations still looking for players.
