The Orchard Park Little League (OPLL) Concession Staff plays a vital role in creating a positive game-day experience for players, families, umpires, and visitors. Concessions are often the first and last interaction families have with OPLL on a given day, making customer service, efficiency, and cleanliness essential.

Position Purpose
The Concession Staff is responsible for operating OPLL concession stands in a safe, clean, and efficient manner while providing friendly, professional service to all customers. Staff members are expected to represent OPLL with integrity, teamwork, and respect.
Core Responsibilities
Concession Staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Preparing, serving, and selling food and beverages in accordance with league standards

Operating cash boxes, point-of-sale systems, and digital payments accurately

Providing courteous, prompt, and professional customer service

Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment

Communicating clearly with supervisors and fellow staff members

Assisting during high-volume periods such as tournaments and playoff games
Food Safety & Cleanliness Standards
Concession Staff must follow all food safety and cleanliness expectations, including:

Washing hands frequently and using gloves when handling food

Keeping food preparation and serving areas clean and orderly
-
Monitoring food temperatures and storage practices as instructed
-
Properly disposing of trash, recyclables, and food waste

Cleaning counters, grills, coolers, and equipment throughout shifts
Food safety is non-negotiable and is critical to protecting customers and the league.
Cash Handling & Accountability
Concession Staff members are trusted with league funds and are expected to:

Accurately handle cash, credit, and mobile payments

Make correct change and follow pricing guidelines
-
Report shortages, overages, or equipment issues immediately

Never leave cash boxes unattended

Follow opening and closing cash procedures as directed
Customer Service Expectations
OPLL Concession Staff are expected to:

Treat all customers with respect, patience, and professionalism

Remain calm and courteous during busy or stressful periods

Respond appropriately to questions, concerns, or complaints

Work efficiently to minimize wait times during peak hours

Represent OPLL positively at all times
Opening & Closing Duties
Depending on assignment, staff members may be responsible for:

Setting up the concession stand prior to games

Stocking food, beverages, and supplies

Turning on equipment and ensuring proper operation

Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces at closing
-
Securing food, equipment, and cash at the end of shifts

Expectations & Conduct
All Concession Staff members are expected to:

Arrive on time and be prepared for scheduled shifts

Dress appropriately and follow posted guidelines

Work collaboratively as part of a team

Follow instructions from concession managers or league leadership

Uphold OPLL values of sportsmanship, community, and respect
Hours
The Concessions Crew works essentially every day from Opening Day until late July. On standard weekdays, the crew works from 5:15 PM to 8:30 PM. On a standard weekend day, the crew works in shifts from 8:00 AM to the end of games. During tournament weekends, there are additional hours throughout Saturday & Sunday.
Crew members can expect to work 12-24 hours during a standard week, and between 20-35 hours on tournament weeks. Starting pay is $16/hour.
